Is a leading expert on Cuban history and politics. He will speak about the obstacles and opportunities in this new era of normalized relations between Cuba and the United States. Professor LeoGrande has written widely on Latin America and U.S.-Latin American relations. His articles have appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, LeMonde Diplomatique and other journals and newspapers.

He is co-editor of A Contemporary Cuba Reader: The Revolution Under Raul Castro,Our Own Backyard: The United States in Central America, 1977-1992, and co-author of Back Channel to Cuba: The Hidden History of Negotiations between Washington and Havana, which will be available for purchase.
