Student Eligibility

The Aim High Academy is open to current 11th-grade students in New Jersey who will be entering 12th grade in September 2015. 

The program seeks students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and potential first-generation college students. To qualify for Aim High, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Economic need – the applicant should qualify for the national free/reduced-price lunch program (if you’re unsure whether you qualify, ask your high-school guidance counselor or principal, or contact RU-Camden Aim High, using the contact information at the bottom of this page)

OR

  • Potential first-generation college student – The applicant should be a prospective first-generation college student. What does this mean? You are a potential first-generation college students if one or both of your parents/guardians does not have a four-year degree from an American college or university

OR

  • Both of the above are true.  

If you do not meet the qualifying criteria, but you believe your circumstance merits consideration for the Aim High Academy, please contact us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
Beyond qualifying criteria, applicants will be chosen based on academic potential (evaluated from GPA, transcripts, and other assessments), leadership potential, level of motivation, commitment to education, and financial need.
