On Tuesday, October 17, members of the Rutgers-Camden Community Leadership Center (CLC) and LEAP Academy University School attended the 9th Annual New Jersey Charter Schools Association Conference, celebrating 20 years of charter schools in the state.  Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago, LEAP Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees, Wanda Garcia, CLC Associate Director, Dr. Velmina Rivera, LEAP Chief Medical Officer, and Marchelle Roberts, Director of College Access, presented best practices on sustaining the LEAP educational pipeline to conference participants.  LEAP Alum De’Saun Stewart, Class of 2014, performed opera at the evening celebration saluting charter schools.  In a commemorative video, Dr. Santiago reflected on the legacy and impact of LEAP Academy in Camden for the past and future 20 years.
