Teacher Development Performance Institute for Mathematics
This two-year effort addresses mathematics instruction for the upper primary grades (3-5) and middle school grades (6-8) in Camden City. 36 teachers will be invited to participate and will receive a 10-day 70-hour summer institute, and follow-up professional development during the school year. Teachers will be prepared to become Mathematics Ambassadors and have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of mathematics teaching and learning. Through facilitation from a talented group of math specialists and faculty, teachers will strengthen their capacity to use research-based pedagogy including research-based methods of writing and assessing lessons and methods of reflecting productively on classroom practices.
