DESCRIPTION:About the lecture:\nMs. Rodriguez-Perez will focus her remarks 
 on the investment USAID has made in developing countries and the long-term
  benefits for America and the American people. At a pivotal time in US rel
 ations with the works and new era in the area of global affairs\, developm
 ent now takes its place alongside defense and diplomacy as the an essentia
 l component of American foreign policy. She has been instrumental in lever
 aging an agenda in Paraguay that prioritizes Ethics\, Equity\, Transparenc
 y and Rule of Law in Paraguay and is leading USAID’s investment in promo
 ting and strengthening values that are critical for the renewal of civil s
 ociety. \n&nbsp\;\nFeaturing\nEvelyn Rodriguez-Perez\, USAID Paraguay Cou
 ntry Representative\nMs. Rodriguez-Perez has worked in development for ove
 r 30 years. She arrived in Asunción\, Paraguay\, in January 2019 as USAID
 ’s Country Representative. Most recently\, she served as Director of the
  Office of Education\, in the Bureau for Economic Growth\, Education and E
 nvironment (E3) and Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for the E3 Burea
 u. Previously\, she served in Lima\, Peru as the Acting Deputy Director. U
 SAID/Peru’s portfolio included education\, health\, democracy and govern
 ance\, environment\, and alternative development. Her previous USAID tours
  include Cairo\, Egypt\, where she served as Director of the Office of Edu
 cation\, and Tegucigalpa\, Honduras as the Deputy Director of the Office o
