On Tuesday, February 13, Rutgers Alfredo Santiago Scholars participated in the annual Rutgers-Camden Scholarship Reception to honor donors and student recipients of various scholarships. The Alfredo Santiago Scholarship was established by Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago to provide financial support to LEAP alumni attending Rutgers who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to their community. LEAP alum and Rutgers sophomore Bielka Gonzalez spoke to the attendees about how LEAP prepared her for college and inspired her to stay in Camden to study, work at the Early Learning Research Academy through the JumpStart program, and intern at PwC in Philadelphia (Pricewaterhouse Coopers).
