About the lecture:

Ms. Rodriguez-Perez will focus her remarks on the investment USAID has made in developing countries and the long-term benefits for America and the American people. At a pivotal time in US relations with the works and new era in the area of global affairs, development now takes its place alongside defense and diplomacy as the an essential component of American foreign policy. She has been instrumental in leveraging an agenda in Paraguay that prioritizes Ethics, Equity, Transparency and Rule of Law in Paraguay and is leading USAID’s investment in promoting and strengthening values that are critical for the renewal of civil society.

Evelyn Rodriguez-Perez, USAID Paraguay Country Representative
Ms. Rodriguez-Perez has worked in development for over 30 years. She arrived in Asunción, Paraguay, in January 2019 as USAID’s Country Representative. Most recently, she served as Director of the Office of Education, in the Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3) and Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for the E3 Bureau. Previously, she served in Lima, Peru as the Acting Deputy Director. USAID/Peru’s portfolio included education, health, democracy and governance, environment, and alternative development. Her previous USAID tours include Cairo, Egypt, where she served as Director of the Office of Education, and Tegucigalpa, Honduras as the Deputy Director of the Office of Human Resources.
