The Community Leadership Center has a long track record of establishing partnerships with universities and NGOs internationally. Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago has visited numerous countries to give presentations about the LEAP Academy educational pipeline and how to use a school to transform community and revitalize neighborhoods. She was named a Fulbright Program Associate to work with faculty and students and the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (UNA) in Paraguay to conduct professional development workshops and trainings. A major initiative is the Rutgers University and University of Havana Research Collaboration to explore leading trends in community development, population health, and STEM fields in this new era of normalized relations between the United States and Cuba. The third major initiative has been the development of a Rutgers Masters in Community Development degree program in Puerto Rico through the partnership of the Center for Puerto Rico.
